In his early years, Hollywood's father, a lead guitarist traveling taking gigs in his classic rock band (Kansas City Southern) and his mother with her old record player on non-stop was just a daily occurrence. Early music influences such as Bad Company, Van Halen, Bob Seger, Frank Sinatra, Phil Collins, and Queen just to name a few were the types of music his dad tuned him into at a young age. His mother's influences go from one end of the spectrum to the other with artist and bands as Tower of Power, James Brown, Ray Charles, basically anything Motown to a classic country artist as Buck Owens, Faron Young, Johnny Mathis, and Patsy Cline. In fact, on his mother's side, his Grandmother was said to be her second cousin, with the same last name and similar looks. As Hollywood grew older his older brother turned him onto the movement known in the early 90's as (The Real Hip Hop Generation) This was where Hollywood - Zen heard artists like Slick Rick, Run DMC, Too $hort, N.W.A, 2 Pac, Notorious Big, and more. Maturing mentally and musically he began to really understand music as a form of art and truly learned to appreciate it. This is when Hollywood sought out true music with the right structure, song arrangement, and the main thing, true artistry. This is where he began to crate dig and started listening to all genres of music and soak up all of the information he could. "Studying the song's" is what he calls it. "The unknowns, underground, unsigned music hustlers is where you will find some of the best music" he always says. With his three decades of music, he has witnessed personally coupled with his knowledge of oldies is where his ear for music and inspiration for music comes from.
